Stacey Wedding

Stacey Wedding provides consulting services to foundations, businesses, and charitable organizations. Her practice areas include:

Philanthropic research and advising, including exploration of various giving strategies, development of charitable mission statement, grantwriting and grantmaking training, and creation of various tools to effectively manage a grantmaking program;

Communications, with an emphasis on public speaking coaching and the creation of written materials such as brochures, newsletters, annual reports and speeches; and

Program Research, Development & Evaluation, including issue-specific research and analysis, feasibility studies, needs assessments, organizational assessments, program development and evaluation.

Prior to establishing her own business, Stacey served in a variety of roles at the Nevada Community Foundation, a $45 million public charity serving all of Nevada. Over the course of her seven year tenure at the Foundation, she served as Interim President, Vice President of Donor Services & Programs, Director of Philanthropic Services, Development Officer, and Donor Services Executive. In these capacities, she helped grow the Foundation from $10 million to $45 million; re-designed the Foundation’s approach to grantmaking; handled written communications; served as a philanthropic advisor to all donors; worked with donors to create a youth philanthropy program and women’s venture philanthropy group; served as spokesperson on a number of occasions; developed the Foundation’s website and marketing materials; and organized numerous convenings and special events.

Before joining the Community Foundation, Stacey served as an account executive for Ballard Communications, a local public relations firm. Her primary focus included the promotion of her clients’ charitable activities in Southern Nevada. Her work was recognized through the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) as recipient of two PRSA Public Relations Pinnacle Awards in the areas of news release writing and marketing communications.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she graduated summa cum laude from their Honors College. She also received the Board of Regents prestigious Undergraduate Scholar of the Year Award and later was awarded the UNLV 2004 Outstanding Alumnus Award for her support of the Honors College.

In 2004, Stacey was recognized as a "Rising Star Under 40" by In Business Las Vegas and in 2002, she received the Nevada Business Journal’s “Top Business Professionals Under 40 Award.” Stacey is also a graduate of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Las Vegas Class of 2003.

Stacey is actively involved in a number of professional and community organizations, including the UNLV Honors College, Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, Association of Fundraising Professionals, and DJs for PJs.

She is a native of Las Vegas, Nevada and currently lives in Henderson, Nevada with her husband, Jeffrey Wedding, an archaeologist at UNLV’s Harry Reid Center. They have established the Jeffrey & Stacey Wedding Charitable Fund at the Nevada Community Foundation as a vehicle for their philanthropy.
