The Power Of Perspective
Last week, an article in the New York Times observed how much the power of perspective impacts us all - for good or bad. Because the media especially has the perspective that the sky is falling, that perspective gets transmitted to us all. Is there any wonder that most have been "infected" by the pessimism of today that our economy is on the way to the bottom without hope of recovery any time soon?
And yet, just yesterday it was reported that over the last five weeks, the market has recovered a significant portion of the loss - and yet, are we hearing this news at all - yet alone with the same intensity and exhaggerated word choice that has been demonstrated repeatedly over the last 18 months?
The sky is NOT falling - and in fact, there are no known incidents of the sky EVER hitting anyone on the head! There is still much good that is happening - and we are getting through this difficult time much more quickly than anticipated by the media.
Do be prudent - keep some cash for the rainy days. Build your savings, but also keep aware of the investment opportunities that abound. Virtuallyl everything is "on sale" at a 35-50 discount. Would you not shop at Wal-Mart if they told you they were having a 40% sale?
Stay tuned - more good things are around the corner.
